Centralized Transportation Dispatch Technician Nights - Logistics - Corporate Office (Home Office - Austin or Willmar, MN)

This role is the primary point of contact for the Transportation Operations Corporate during non-business hours, 4:30PM to 2:30AM or 9:30PM to 7:30AM Monday-Friday, based on a rotating schedule and Saturday/Sunday 6:00 PM to 6:00AM every three weeks (rotating schedule).

Under limited supervision this role will be responsible for error resolution, proactively tracking freight, OS&D resolution, and processing late orders via the TMS. This position is part of a rotating schedule with two other night team members.

Relocation is not eligible for this role.

Responsibilities:

The person in this position:

• Tracks loads to ensure on time delivery and ensures late truck communication is sent to the appropriate team members.
• Works closely with the transportation team to ensure synergies are being recognized to reduce overall freight spend.
• Provides monthly reports to align with department KPI's.
• Is responsible for "Over, Short and Damaged" product resolution under minimal supervision.
• Provides initial accident paperwork and communication.
• Works cross functionally with warehouse operation, customer service, and/or QC to resolve issues.
• Vacation will be limited during the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, week after Christmas, and the last week of the fiscal year.
• Other functions as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Demonstrates dependability due to transactional customer service required for this role.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills: ability to communicate with clarity and diplomacy with time sensitive/challenging issues.
• Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft suite of products.
• Proven ability to initiate appropriate action independently.
• Proven ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy.
• Knowledge of transportation processes to troubleshoot issues in a faced paced environment.

Preferred:

• Blue Yonder Transportation Management System (TMS) experience, Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and or motor carrier dispatch experience.
• Knowledge of warehouse shipping processes.
• Experience with order processing systems.
• Strong organization skills.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $22.50-33.25 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
