Interim Controller Warren, NJ | Full-Time | Onsite | Interim Opportunity We are partnering with a growing organization in the Warren, NJ area to identify an experienced Interim Controller to lead the accounting function during a critical transition period. This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for an accomplished accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can quickly make an impact. Key Responsibilities Lead the day‑to‑day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, general ledger, inventory, and fixed assets. Oversee the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes. Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and financial analyses. Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state tax regulations, and sales & use tax requirements. Maintain and strengthen internal controls while supporting external audits. Oversee customer credit approvals and 1099 reporting. Analyze inventory valuation, aging, and margin performance. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while identifying opportunities for process improvements. Partner with executive leadership to provide financial reporting and strategic business insights. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred . 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing audits and working directly with external CPA firms. QuickBooks experience is required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and manage multiple priorities.
