Immigration Paralegal

Role Description This part-time Immigration Paralegal role at Munoz Llamosas Law, PLLC is a hybrid position based in Warrenville, IL, with a combination of in‑office and work‑from‑home responsibilities. The Immigration Paralegal will support attorneys by preparing and organizing immigration applications and petitions, including family‑based, employment‑based, and other visa matters. Day‑to‑day tasks include gathering and reviewing client documents, drafting forms and supporting letters, maintaining case files, and tracking deadlines. The role also involves communicating with clients in a professional and empathetic manner, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with government agencies as needed. The Immigration Paralegal will help ensure accuracy, compliance with immigration regulations, and timely submission of filings while supporting overall case management and office operations. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law with a focus on Immigration Law, including familiarity with relevant statutes, regulations, and procedures. Experience handling Immigration Issues such as family‑based petitions, employment‑based cases, and humanitarian relief, with attention to detail and confidentiality. Knowledge of Visas and related processes, including preparation of forms and supporting documentation for various visa categories. Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation for immigration matters, including forms, affidavits, cover letters, and evidence packets. Prior experience as an immigration paralegal, legal assistant, or in a related legal support role is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to clients. Strong organizational skills, including time management, document management, and deadline tracking in a fast‑paced environment. Comfort with legal software, case management systems, and standard office tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, scanning). Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff, as well as independently in a hybrid work setting. Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience is strongly preferred; immigration experience is a plus.
