Prefer the following credentials: Certified Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), and/or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Employees in this position are prohibited from using medical cannabis due to state and federal laws. Responsibilities Provides intensive social work services to complex cases, provides a mentoring and training reinforcement service for less experienced social worker clinicians and serves as technical expert to office supervisor, staff members, court officials and community partners; and performs other duties as required. Provides intensive case management services to juveniles and their families with complex multiple issues. Conducts risk and needs assessment on all probated, committed or sentenced youth to assist with treatment planning. Provides mentoring and training to new and less experienced Social Worker Clinicians and provides juvenile justice consultative services to management, court officials and community partners. Provides technical support to manage, staff, etc. Completes court‑ordered or agency‑directed assessments, maintains mental health files on all youth who receive services, and enters all case contacts in the youth's electronic file. Participates in treatment planning conferences and reviews cases being served by DJJ Mental Health. Maintains contact with DJJ Juvenile Service Workers on relevant case information and treatment progress. Reports any known violations of youth's conditions of supervision to Juvenile Service Workers immediately. Participates in administrative revocation hearing. Completes professional development opportunities via training, workshops and professional literature as required. On‑call 24/7 and responds to emergency situations. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for the length of employment in this classification. Travel may be required. May be required to restrain out‑of‑control juveniles. Required to possess one of the following licensures: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Social Worker (CSW), Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA). Minimum Requirements Education: A master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, marriage and family therapy or a related field. Experience, Training, or Skills: Must have two years of professional social work experience. Substitute Education for Experience: None. Substitute Experience for Education: A bachelor's degree supplemented by four years of professional social work experience will substitute for the primary education and experience requirements. Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, etc.) Must furnish documentation that he/she possesses a valid driver's license within one month of employment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials. Working Conditions Performs job duties in an office/facility setting and visits clients and/or families at their residence. Provides emergency services on a 24‑hour basis, including accepting referrals and completing investigations at any hour without prior warning. As a result of enforced intervention, the worker runs the risk of physical harm. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of six months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
