The Position We are seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen our team. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our company with responsibility to complete fundamental accounting tasks and processes, ensuring accuracy, and adhering to established procedures. The ideal candidate will be experienced, with a demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. You will fulfill those Core Duties reporting to the CFO, accountable to: General Ledger: Prepare and record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records. Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Account Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts, resolving any discrepancies timely. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Month-End/Year-End Close: Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of accruals, prepayments, and other adjusting entries. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and information as requested. Fixed Assets: Maintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation and amortization entries, and support cost‑segregation studies. Tax Preparation: Assist with the preparation of tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Debt Compliance: Prepare quarterly analyses and appropriate internal and external messaging, to report compliance across lender base. Who You Are A finisher. You get things done. Qualifications 4+ years accounting experience, ideally in affordable housing, real estate or construction. Best with expertise in Rent Manager® and Avid. Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in Accounting or Finance. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software applications. Focus on simplification and leveraging AI to maximize efficiency.
