Join a Leading Aerospace Manufacturer - Belcan is recruiting on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing company for an experienced Quality Inspector to support a growing Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) operation in Warren, Michigan. This position is ideal for an experienced aerospace quality professional who enjoys working in a precision manufacturing environment and is committed to ensuring products meet the highest quality standards.

Aerospace quality inspection experience is required for this role.

Shift: 3rd Shift (17% Shift differential - Schedule: M-F: 11pm - 7am)

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections on precision-machined aerospace components. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections on precision-machined aerospace components.
• Conduct dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using established quality procedures.
• Operate and/or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect precision parts.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and additional inspection tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and CAD models.
• Verify products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Identify and document non-conforming material.
• Work closely with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality concerns.
• Accurately complete inspection documentation and quality records.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all quality and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous Quality Inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Experience inspecting precision-machined components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and measurement skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and/or programming.
• AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• First Article Inspection (FAI).
• CAD model interpretation.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Use hand tools throughout the shift.
• Perform bending, reaching, crouching, and repetitive hand movements.
• Work safely around manufacturing equipment.

Interview Process:

• Qualified candidates will participate in an in-person interview, which may include a hands-on skills assessment related to the position.
• Candidates are encouraged to wear steel-toe or composite-toe shoes for the interview. Safety glasses and protective toe caps will be provided if needed.
