Job Title – Senior Software Engineer

Location – Birmingham, AL

Duration – 6+ Months Contract
1st Shift

Work days/hours: M - F 8am - 5pm
Position is remote and we will consider nationally located candidates.

Specific skills needed for success:
- Mid-to-high level SQL experience needed to be able to write, modify, and run queries, scripts and stored procedures.
- Experience working with healthcare data, preferred experience with ADT and patient movement.
- Exposure to data loading and ETL processing is preferred.
- Exposure to healthcare integration engines used to process information. This would include technologies such as Corepoint, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, and Mirth. Familiarity with HL7 message structures, specifically ADT.

Roles & Responsibilities

• A 6-month engagement is needed to facilitate migration of customer data to a new platform version. 
• The role will collaborate with clinical resources who are responsible for validating data and providing guidance on configurations needed to process data with new requirements. 
• This role provides technical support for data migrations and escalated data review to ensure that data is processing appropriately per application design. Resource will be responsible for facilitating changes to a customer’s configurations and address issues identified in historical data through standard processes. 
• A high level of comfort with MS SQL Server and a basic knowledge of HL7 message structure is required.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of software engineering practices, techniques and processes and basic knowledge of technology trends and domain expertise. 

Experience Required

• Requires a BS degree preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related Engineering discipline and 4-5 years\' experience.

• Understands and analyzes requirements for a single component.
• Has developed knowledge and skills in own job family; still acquiring / expanding fundamental knowledge and higher-level skills.
• Applies knowledge and skills to a variety of standard activities. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Eligibilities & qualifications

• Requires a BS degree preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related Engineering discipline and 4-5 years\' experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of multi-threaded software design and development.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Demonstrated understanding of development in a process oriented/regulated environment and adhering to a quality management system.
