Assist in determining the suitability of donors Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F in the plasma freezer Stand for 6 to 8 hours per day Bend and twist neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day Frequently move both hands and walk up to 6-8 hours per day Infrequently squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels Reach below shoulder height Requirements Superior customer service standards A High School diploma or GED Ability to work a flexible schedule An interest in making a difference in the world Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups Hearing acuity essential Color perception/discrimination Near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye Ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists Ability to make precise coordinated movements to grasp and manipulate objects Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
