Optometrist - PRN Coverage Oct 2026

Texas Eye and Cataract is seeking an experienced Optometrist for PRN coverage 1-4 days per week in October at our flagship medical and surgical eye care center in Midlothian, Texas .

About the Role

You'll work alongside our ophthalmology and optometry team providing medical and routine optometric care in a busy surgical practice.

Typical responsibilities may include:

• Comprehensive and medical eye examinations
• Management of routine ocular conditions and disease
• Cataract and surgical post-operative care
• Refractions and routine vision care
• Collaboration with our surgeons, technicians, and clinical team
• Approximately 30 patients per clinical day

Experience with surgical co-management is helpful, but we're also open to an experienced OD who is comfortable learning our clinical workflows and protocols.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an OD who is clinically confident but equally strong with people.

Our ideal candidate:

• Holds a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• Maintains an active Texas optometry license in good standing
• Is comfortable managing approximately 30 patients per day with appropriate clinical support
• Has experience with medical optometry and ocular disease
• Surgical co-management experience is preferred, but not required
• Communicates well with patients, technicians, and fellow providers
• Is adaptable, dependable, and comfortable joining an established team
• Believes an excellent patient experience is just as important as excellent clinical care
