Associate Director, Specialty Laboratory Sourcing, Contracting and Category Management

Gilead Sciences seeks an Associate Director to lead specialty laboratory sourcing, contracting, and category management for biomarker, bioanalytical, and companion diagnostic services. This role develops sourcing strategies, negotiates vendor agreements, and manages laboratory partnerships across clinical development and research functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategy for specialty laboratory services including portfolio management and vendor segmentation
• Lead contract negotiations and manage master laboratory agreements, pricing, and commercial terms
• Serve as primary vendor outsourcing contact and strategic consultant to clinical and research stakeholders
• Identify cost-containment opportunities through benchmarking, demand management, and portfolio leverage
• Oversee laboratory onboarding, vendor qualification, compliance, and performance management

Requirements

• Strategic sourcing and category management expertise with proven vendor negotiation experience
• Subject-matter knowledge of biomarker, bioanalytical, or companion diagnostic laboratory services
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority in regulated environments
• Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills for contract and pricing negotiation
• Experience managing complex vendor relationships and master service agreements
• GxP compliance knowledge and familiarity with regulated laboratory or clinical operations
