Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Unlimited Behavior Solutions
Job Description
Job Description
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – In-Person
Unlimited Behavior Solutions (UBS)
Position Summary
Unlimited Behavior Solutions (UBS) is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and clinically strong Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide in-person behavioral services to children, adolescents, and adults.
The BCBA will be responsible for assessment, treatment planning, direct clinical oversight, caregiver collaboration, staff training, and ongoing evaluation of treatment outcomes. This position requires regular in-person involvement with clients and staff in home, community, school, and other natural environments.
UBS emphasizes individualized, person-centered behavioral intervention. Treatment should be responsive to each client's developmental level, communication abilities, preferences, family priorities, environmental context, and unique behavioral presentation. BCBAs are expected to use clinical judgment rather than relying solely on standardized or highly compliance-based approaches.
Essential Responsibilities
Assessment and Treatment Planning
The BCBA will:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavioral and skills-based assessments.
- Conduct caregiver interviews, record reviews, direct observations, and functional assessment procedures as clinically appropriate.
- Develop clear operational definitions and appropriate data-collection systems.
- Identify behavioral functions and relevant antecedent, environmental, skill-deficit, and setting-event variables.
- Develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and treatment plans.
- Develop measurable acquisition, replacement-behavior, reduction, caregiver-training, and generalization goals.
- Ensure treatment recommendations are clinically appropriate, socially significant, and responsive to client and family priorities.
- Continually evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify interventions based on data and clinical observation.
In-Person Clinical Supervision
A significant component of this position is direct, in-person clinical supervision.
The BCBA will:
- Observe staff implementing treatment with clients in natural environments.
- Model behavioral interventions and teaching procedures directly with clients when appropriate.
- Provide Behavior Technicians and RBTs with immediate, constructive performance feedback.
- Conduct competency-based training rather than relying solely on verbal instruction.
- Use modeling, rehearsal, role-play, Behavioral Skills Training (BST), and performance feedback to develop staff competency.
- Ensure staff understand not only how to implement interventions but also the clinical rationale for treatment procedures.
- Monitor treatment integrity and address barriers to consistent implementation.
- Provide ongoing clinical direction as client needs and treatment priorities change.
Behavioral Intervention
BCBAs are expected to develop interventions that prioritize meaningful skill development and long-term independence.
Intervention may include:
- Functional communication training
- Emotional regulation and coping skills
- Executive functioning and self-management
- Social and relationship skills
- Adaptive and independent living skills
- Tolerance and flexibility
- Community participation
- Safety skills
- Shaping
- Task analysis
- Systematic exposure and desensitization
- Reinforcement-based procedures
- Antecedent and environmental modifications
- Naturalistic teaching
- Caregiver-mediated intervention
UBS recognizes that traditional compliance-focused behavioral approaches may not be clinically appropriate for every client. BCBAs are expected to modify treatment when standard demand, prompting, reinforcement, or consequence-based procedures increase distress, avoidance, escalation, or interfere with the therapeutic relationship.
Caregiver and Family Collaboration
The BCBA will:
- Develop collaborative relationships with parents, caregivers, and other significant support persons.
- Provide caregiver education and training based on the needs of the individual client and family.
- Help caregivers understand the function and context of behavior.
- Model strategies during naturally occurring situations.
- Develop realistic interventions that can be implemented within the family's daily routines.
- Incorporate caregiver priorities into treatment planning whenever clinically appropriate.
- Support generalization of skills beyond structured treatment sessions.
Clinical Documentation and Data Analysis
The BCBA will:
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Review behavioral and skill-acquisition data regularly.
- Analyze trends and make data-informed treatment decisions.
- Update treatment goals and intervention procedures as clinically indicated.
- Complete progress reports, treatment plans, FBAs, BIPs, supervision documentation, and other required clinical records.
- Ensure documentation meets UBS, funding-source, regulatory, and professional requirements.
Collaboration
The BCBA may collaborate with:
- Parents and caregivers
- Behavior Technicians and RBTs
- Other BCBAs and clinical supervisors
- Schools and educational teams
- Regional Centers and other funding agencies
- Physicians and mental health professionals
- Speech-language pathologists
- Occupational therapists
- Other members of the client's interdisciplinary team
Collaboration should occur within appropriate professional, ethical, and confidentiality boundaries.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
- Master's degree or higher in behavior analysis, psychology, education, special education, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of functional assessment and function-based behavioral intervention.
- Ability to develop measurable and clinically meaningful treatment goals.
- Strong clinical writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to analyze behavioral data and modify treatment based on client response.
- Ability and willingness to provide services and supervision in person.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes and community locations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a clinical team.
- Ability to meet applicable background-clearance, health, and employment requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience providing behavioral services in home and community settings.
- Experience supervising RBTs and Behavior Technicians.
- Experience with adolescents and adults in addition to pediatric populations.
- Experience with complex behavioral presentations.
- Experience with severe or high-risk behavior.
- Experience developing caregiver-mediated interventions.
- Experience adapting behavioral intervention for clients for whom highly directive or compliance-oriented approaches are ineffective.
- Strong knowledge of assent, client autonomy, dignity, and person-centered behavioral treatment.
Professional Expectations
UBS BCBAs are expected to demonstrate:
- Sound clinical judgment
- Professionalism and reliability
- Respect for client dignity and autonomy
- Responsiveness to client assent and indicators of distress
- Strong communication with families and staff
- Timely completion of documentation
- Ethical decision-making
- Flexibility in treatment approach
- Commitment to evidence-based practice
- Willingness to actively coach and develop direct-care staff
- Focus on meaningful improvements in the client's everyday life
Work Environment
This is an in-person clinical position. Services may occur in client homes, community settings, schools, the UBS office, or other locations relevant to treatment.
The BCBA should expect to spend a meaningful portion of clinical time directly observing clients, modeling interventions, training staff, and collaborating with caregivers rather than providing supervision exclusively through telehealth.
About Unlimited Behavior Solutions

Our work emphasizes functional assessment, skill development, caregiver collaboration, independence, dignity, and practical strategies that can be used in everyday life.
