Financial Aid Specialist

For Assistance with the application process: View email address on click.appcast.io View phone number on click.appcast.io This position is the first point of contact representing the Financial Aid Office and is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and management of the front office. This position will work closely with the Financial Aid Risk Management and Compliance team member and Financial Aid Counselors to identify students requiring a Title IV aid recalculation and assist in the recalculation of aid. The Financial Aid Specialist will also be responsible for outreach to students to minimize loss of Title IV aid and provide counseling regarding required aid recalculations. Superior customer service and organizational skills. B. Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in stressful situations. C. Ability to work and counsel effectively with various types of students and families. D. Ability to work effectively with personnel from federal, state and local agencies, and lending institutions. E. Ability to read and interpret federal regulations and apply to institutional procedures. F. Ability to supervise and apply personnel policy as outlined by the college. G. Clerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. H. Must have good written and oral communication skills. I. This position requires access to federal aid databases and therefore cannot be in default or owe an overpayment in any Title IV Federal Financial Aid program.
