C&I Credit Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join our client within a banking institution. This individual will be responsible for performing in-depth financial analysis, assessing credit risk, and providing well-supported recommendations on complex commercial loan requests. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and underwriting experience across various commercial loan types, including C&I or ABL. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of middle-market and commercial borrowers, including review of financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections. Prepare detailed credit memos and underwriting packages with risk assessments and recommendations for approval. Evaluate collateral and perform loan structure analysis to ensure appropriate risk mitigation. Collaborate with relationship managers, loan officers, and portfolio managers on new and existing credit requests. Monitor borrower performance and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration. Assist in portfolio management, including renewals, modifications, and annual reviews. Ensure all analyses comply with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements. Mentor junior analysts by reviewing work, sharing best practices, and providing technical guidance. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus. 5+ years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience in banking or financial services. Strong understanding of C&I or ABL Lending Proficiency with financial spreading software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
