About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to lead its enterprise-wide philanthropic growth strategy. The CPO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the Foundation's long-term strategic impact and deepening engagement with donors, professional advisors, and community stakeholders. This transformational executive will oversee the Development and Philanthropic Services function, guiding a sophisticated fundraising and donor engagement strategy to support both immediate revenue objectives and long-term asset growth. The role involves leading the operationalization of the Foundation's strategic plan, structuring complex philanthropic gifts, and fostering a culture of philanthropy. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (graduate degree or professional certification preferred), at least 10 years' of experience in nonprofit fundraising, and a proven track record in comprehensive philanthropic campaigns. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a strong background in comprehensive fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, and campaign leadership, with a demonstrated commitment to equity-centered philanthropy. The role requires a seasoned people manager with the ability to develop talent, create psychological safety, and lead with a collaborative presence. Responsibilities also include cultivating strategic relationships with professional advisors, managing a personal portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, and overseeing departmental budgeting and performance metrics. The successful candidate will be expected to champion innovative donor engagement strategies, enhance the Foundation's philanthropic brand, and ensure that donor investments translate into measurable and equitable community outcomes. A genuine connection to the region and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders in philanthropic partnerships are essential.
