- Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner (Radiation Oncology)Hot JobHomewood Main Campus - BIRMINGHAM, AL 35209## Description**Urology Centers of Alabama | Birmingham, Alabama**### Elevate Your Career in Radiation OncologyUrology Centers of Alabama is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Radiation Oncology team in Birmingham, Alabama.As a physician-led organization, Urology Centers of Alabama offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment with highly engaged physicians, experienced clinical staff, and a strong focus on providing excellent cancer care.This is an exciting opportunity for an APP who is interested in developing or expanding expertise in Radiation Oncology while becoming an integral member of a well-supported multidisciplinary team.### Opportunity Details* **Position Type:** Full-Time* **Location:** Birmingham, Alabama* **Specialty:** Radiation Oncology* **Call Requirements:** No routine call anticipated* **Compensation:** Competitive salary and benefits packageThe APP will support the Radiation Oncology practice through management of follow-up visits, treatment-related evaluations, urgent or add-on visits, patient inquiries, symptom management, imaging and laboratory review, and coordination of care with referring physicians and other members of the oncology team.### Why Work with Us?* **Outstanding Physicians and Staff:** Work alongside an excellent group of radiation oncologists and experienced clinical professionals in a highly collaborative environment.* **Supportive Team Culture:** Join a practice that values communication, teamwork, accessibility, and mutual support.* **Well-Developed Clinical Environment:** Significant effort has been invested in refining workflows, operational processes, and clinical support to create an efficient and positive environment for providers and staff.* **Meaningful Patient Relationships:** Build longitudinal relationships with patients throughout treatment, recovery, and survivorship.* **Professional Growth:** Develop specialized expertise in Radiation Oncology while working closely with experienced physicians and a multidisciplinary oncology team.* **Competitive Compensation:** Urology Centers of Alabama offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.* **Opportunity to Make an Impact:** Play an important role in the continued growth and development of the Radiation Oncology program.### Duties & ResponsibilitiesA typical day may include:* Providing direct patient care in the Radiation Oncology clinic* Performing follow-up and survivorship visits* Evaluating patients during and following radiation treatment* Assessing and managing treatment-related symptoms and side effects* Supporting urgent, add-on, and referral visits when appropriate* Reviewing laboratory studies, imaging, and other relevant clinical information* Responding to patient questions related to symptoms, imaging, treatment, and follow-up care* Coordinating care with radiation oncologists, referring physicians, nursing, radiation therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team* Providing patient and family education throughout the treatment and follow-up process* Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation* Participating in departmental quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives* Supporting continued refinement and growth of the Radiation Oncology program## Qualifications### Qualifications* Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner* Appropriate Alabama licensure or ability to obtain licensure* DEA registration, as applicable* Current BLS certification; ACLS as required* Oncology or Radiation Oncology experience preferred, not required* New graduates with meaningful prior oncology experience, including oncology nursing, infusion services, inpatient oncology, or similar clinical experience, are encouraged to apply* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team### About the OpportunityThis position is particularly well suited for an APP who values close collaboration with physicians and wants to become deeply involved in the care of patients receiving radiation therapy.Urology Centers of Alabama has made a meaningful investment in strengthening the clinical and operational structure of its Radiation Oncology program.
