X 5 Days Hiring Manager: Dilip Tadisina Storm Duty Requirements Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures. Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment. Position Concept A Systems Analyst develops applications; implements software packages, integrates applications, and provides 24x7 application support. Collaborates on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the application design, development, and implementation phases. Utilizes appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with the IT architecture. Advancement in Progression Advancement to a higher level is based on value added to the Company through increased duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments. Advancement is not automatic, i.e. based solely on time in the job, but will be based on direct observation of the employee’s performance, accomplishments, qualifications, and the business and/or technical needs of the department. Working Conditions Most work performed in an office environment, but occasional travel to operating locations is required. Level 1 – Associate Systems Analyst The Associate Systems Analyst develops software of limited complexity, provides primary support for one or more applications, participates on Application Development and Support teams, and works under direct supervision. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops software of limited complexity based on specifications provided. Implements software packages for which limited configuration and integration is required with minimal vendor contact. Integrates applications where the complexity of interfaces is limited and based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary support for one or more applications typically classified as ‘niche’ or ‘core’, but not ‘mission‑critical’. May provide secondary support for mission‑critical applications. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by assisting with documentation and estimates. Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables under the guidance of more senior staff. Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers. Acquires and maintains knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and application support assignments. Acquires and maintains appropriate technical skills. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, additional years related experience may be considered. Licenses/Certifications: Preferred: Certifications in specific job-related disciplines. Related Experience: Minimum one year of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum high school diploma and 4+ additional years related experience may be considered. Working knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies. Good verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Level 2 – Systems Analyst The Systems Analyst develops software of moderate complexity, provides primary and/or secondary support, participates on the Application Development and Support team, may serve as Technical Lead on small projects, works under moderate supervision and may oversee contract resources and/or junior staff. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops software of moderate complexity based on specifications provided. Implements software packages for which moderate configuration and integration is required; interaction with vendor resources remotely or onsite may be required. Integrates applications with moderately complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission‑critical. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates with review by more senior staff. Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables with review by more senior staff. Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers. May function as Technical Lead on small projects. Acquires and maintains knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and application support assignments. Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications. Implements software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission‑critical. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates; reviews deliverables produced by junior staff. Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables; reviews deliverables produced by junior staff. Leads selection and implementation of software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Leads the integration of applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Provides 24x7 primary and or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission‑critical. Coordinates maintenance activities which may include release schedules for one or more functional areas. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff. Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff. Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager or project managers. Functions as Technical Lead on projects and oversees technical staff; may lead multiple concurrent projects. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Leads complex software development projects. Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications. Leads selection and implementation of software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Leads the integration of applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided. Responsible for resource management, staff augmentation, and vendor relationships and ensures there is adequate support for all assigned IS applications for both day-to-day operations and on‑call support. May serve as a backup to the Manager. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline.
