The role will execute key control deliverables related to issues management, risk reporting and control assessments, to ensure regulatory compliance, protecting client assets, and managing risk.Our ImpactWithin Asset & Wealth Management, we seek to provide innovative investment solutions to help our clients meet their financial goals. Private Bank offers competitive cash management and borrowing solutions strategically integrated with our clients' wealth management goals.AWM Risk Management is a first-line risk and controls management function which ensures process and controls design, controls assessment, issues management, control monitoring and testing, risk reporting and governance.Our primary objective is to elevate our controls environment to enable growth and scalability of the business in a well-managed way. It is a critical function to mitigate risk within Marcus US Deposits and Private Bank, and Goldman Sachs as a whole. This function collaborates strongly with other functions in AWM Risk Management to ensure proactive risk assessment, control design and enhancement. We are looking for people with strong analytical and quantitative backgrounds and a strong interest in financial services. We seek bright and dynamic individuals with a quantitative orientation, basic financial acumen, and fluency with risk and controls.How You Will Fulfill Your PotentialRole RequirementsEvaluate control issues to ensure conformance to Consumer and Firm requirementsAnalyze issue root-cause and validate remediation actionsDrive resolution of issues in conformance to Consumer and Firm requirementsEnsure data quality of issue documentationAggregate issues to identify key themes and control enhancement opportunitiesDevelop and report on Key Risk Indicators/ Key Control IndicatorsEngage with audit and risk partners to monitor findingsAssess vendor risks and issues for themes, and monitor closurePerform reviews of operational risk events and assess themesMonitor operational risk events for timely and accurate reportingAdvise, challenge & inform the businesses on risk mitigation actionsLead senior management presentations on risk and control metrics and analysisCoordinate and facilitate governance routines with key executive stakeholders.Identify ways to share risk best practice across teams and functions, and with other business lines where like processes exist/there is exposure to similar riskSkills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field5+ years related work experienceUnderstanding of Consumer banking processes in a risk management context are requiredExposure to qualitative and quantitative controls across financial products.Strong analytical orientation, lateral thinking, organizational, influencing skills and attention to detail.Ability to perform data analytics using metrics to identify trends and themesExcellent communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas with different levels of stakeholdersInnovative, including a keen eye for identifying areas of control enhancementsGood influencing skills to challenge the status quo and enhance the control environmentSound time management skills to be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task.A mentor / coach to the juniors in the teamGood interpersonal and teamwork skills to develop strong stakeholder relationshipsThe ability to present with impact and build consensus across senior stakeholder groupsTrack record of delivering and enhancing measurable, impactful business outcomesCFA, FRM or equivalent professional certifications preferred3-5 years banking experience, specifically in operational risk, compliance, internal audit or corporate governanceStrong knowledge of Risk Assessment Framework and experience performing control assessmentsWorking knowledge of financial, operational, compliance, and reputation risksExperience aggregating and analyzing various types of risks and data with output to dashboards and/or formal written assessmentsExperience with Tableau or other reporting/ data analytics toolsPreferred QualificationsAbout Goldman SachsAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
