Electrical Superintendent (GSA PER DIEM FOR ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES)
The Electrical Superintendent leads all electrical construction activities for large-scale mission critical and data center projects from installation through turnover and commissioning. This role manages electrical subcontractors, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and field execution to ensure successful project delivery. The Electrical Superintendent works closely with project teams, design partners, and trade contractors to resolve issues, drive project milestones, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical construction activities for large-scale mission critical and data center projects from initial installation through final turnover and commissioning.
- Manage electrical subcontractors in the field, including oversight of manpower planning, work sequencing, and day-to-day performance.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and budgets for electrical scopes of work, ensuring milestones and production goals are met.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, design partners, trade contractors, owners, engineers, and commissioning teams to resolve issues and keep work on track.
- Review electrical drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.
- Interpret electrical one-line diagrams and other technical documents to guide installation activities and troubleshoot field challenges.
- Identify and implement opportunities for value engineering and process improvements within the electrical scope to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Oversee extensive jobsite activities, including installation of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems and associated equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, procedures, and compliance requirements on active construction sites.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards for all electrical work, conducting inspections and coordinating corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate electrical work with mechanical, structural, and commissioning activities to support integrated system performance and successful startup.
- Use construction management and scheduling tools to track progress, forecast resource needs, and report status to project leadership.
- Maintain strong communication with field teams and stakeholders, providing clear direction and timely updates on project status and issues.
- Support commissioning activities by coordinating electrical support, documentation, and testing requirements.
- Contribute to project strategy and execution by providing field-driven insights that improve constructability, schedule, and client satisfaction.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 10+ years of electrical construction experience supporting mission critical, data center, industrial, or large commercial projects.
- Proven experience leading electrical field operations in roles such as Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, or Electrical Construction Manager.
- Strong understanding of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems, including critical power infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating electrical, mechanical, and commissioning activities on complex projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and electrical one-line diagrams with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience managing subcontractors, including oversight of schedules, manpower planning, and project sequencing.
- Construction management, electrical construction, and construction supervision in highly technical environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct field teams and influence project outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with project managers, trade partners, owners, engineers, and commissioning teams.
- Robust problem-solving abilities to address field issues quickly and maintain project momentum.
- Willingness to travel or relocate to project locations as needed to support project requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on mission critical and data center projects, including exposure to utility interconnections, substations, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, and critical power distribution.
- Familiarity with BIM and VDC workflows to support coordination and clash detection for electrical systems.
- Experience using Revit and AutoCAD for reviewing and coordinating electrical design and shop drawings.
- Comfort with scheduling software and construction management tools to plan work, track progress, and report on project status.
- Industrial and large commercial project experience that demonstrates the ability to manage complex electrical scopes.
- Strong coordination skills for working across electrical, mechanical, structural, and commissioning disciplines.
- Ability to contribute to value engineering efforts and process improvements to enhance project efficiency and performance.
- Interest in long-term project stability and career advancement within a robust national data center project pipeline.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative culture where field leadership has a direct impact on project strategy, execution, and client relationships.
Work Environment
This is a primarily field-based role on active mission critical and data center construction sites. The work environment is fast-paced and highly technical, requiring constant coordination among electrical, mechanical, structural, and commissioning teams. The Electrical Superintendent maintains extensive jobsite presence overseeing installation activities, safety compliance, quality standards, and production goals. Daily interactions include close collaboration with project managers, trade partners, owners, engineers, and commissioning teams. The role may require travel or relocation depending on project assignments. It offers a high-visibility setting where field leadership has significant influence on overall project success and direct exposure to cutting-edge electrical infrastructure and large-scale data center projects.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
