JANITOR

Janitor Position

Job Title: Janitor Location: Mount Prospect, IL Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM OR Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain common areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, and amenity spaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces
• Remove trash and recycling from designated areas and ensure proper disposal
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and high-touch surfaces
• Monitor building supplies and notify management when restocking is needed
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting repair needs
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior entryways and assist with seasonal duties (e.g., snow/ice removal at entrances as needed)
• Follow all safety procedures and building protocols

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Good time management and reliability
• Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Strong communication and professionalism when interacting with residents

Additional Requirements:

• Must be dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work a consistent 32-hour weekly schedule
