High School English Teacher 2026-2027

Job Description Bishop Dunne Catholic School is seeking an experienced High School English Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional who understands the joys and demands of teaching, with at least two years of experience teaching English at the secondary level and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. Our teachers are fully engaged in the life of the school and inspire students to reach their potential. Responsibilities Develop daily lessons that meet the goals of the classes. Complete grading and maintain accurate grade books. Maintain an advisory group and lead advisory group meetings. Perform basic administrative duties such as maintaining attendance records and writing comments. Report to the Assistant Principal and exercise decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum. Hours Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with after school hours required as needed. Requirements & Qualifications A master’s degree in English from an accredited university. A valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level, and an ability to teach AP and dual credit courses. At least two years of experience teaching English at the secondary level. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization. Solid technology skills for use in instructional and professional tasks. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check; comply with the Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Program.
