Title: Associate Structural Designer

Location: Omaha, Nebraska | Onsite

Duration: Full Time

Position Summary

• We are seeking an Associate Structural Designer to support the development of accurate and coordinated structural models and construction documents for industrial and commercial facilities.

• The Associate Structural Designer will work under regular guidance and review to translate engineering direction into drawings, details, schedules, and model content. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, document quality, safety awareness, constructability, and disciplined file management.

• Preference will be given to candidates who are currently employed, have demonstrated career stability, and show a strong employment history. Frequent job changes/job hopping is not preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce basic 2D and 3D structural drawings, models, details, and schedules based on engineering sketches, markups, and established standards.

Assist with layouts and detailing for:

• Structural steel
• Concrete
• Foundations
• Equipment supports
• Platforms
• Stairs
• Handrails
• Incorporate engineering and review comments accurately and maintain drawing revisions, transmittals, and organized project files.
• Review assigned work for completeness, coordination, dimensions, annotations, and adherence to company standards before formal review.
• Coordinate model and drawing information with engineering teams and other design disciplines.
• Participate in field measurements, site visits, and site documentation as assigned.
• Learn and follow applicable drafting, modeling, document-control, quality, and safety procedures.
• Perform additional project-support and design-related tasks under supervision to continue developing structural design capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Certificate, associate degree, technical program, or equivalent demonstrated experience in drafting, design technology, structural design, or a related field.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Interest or experience with 3D modeling/design tools such as:
• Revit
• Tekla
• SDS/2
• Navisworks
• Other discipline-specific structural design software
• Ability to interpret technical sketches, engineering markups, and drawings and follow established standards and direction.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate design documentation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other disciplines.
• Ability and willingness to travel to and work at project sites when required.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite in Omaha, Nebraska.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Currently employed with a stable and consistent employment history.
• Demonstrated career progression and commitment to previous employers.
• Experience supporting structural design/documentation for industrial or commercial facilities.
• Exposure to structural steel, concrete, foundations, equipment supports, platforms, stairs, or handrails.
• Experience working from engineering sketches, markups, and design standards.
• Strong interest in developing a long-term career in structural design.
