About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU/PCU/MS Float Duration: Up to 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Active RN license required; pending license accepted under specific conditions Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must be comfortable working all ICU, PCU, and MS units - Experience with patient ratios of at least 1:5 - Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and various line management techniques Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse who will float between ICU, PCU, and MS units. The nurse must confirm comfort in working across all three specialties. The role involves staffing needs being re-evaluated every four hours, with potential for floating 2-3 times per shift. Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or six shifts within a six-week scheduling block. Holidays must be worked according to the specified contract guidelines. First-time travelers are accepted, and local candidates are also welcome. All requests for time off must be included with the submission. The unit staff may include interdisciplinary support from various services. Key responsibilities include managing central lines, ventilator support, and administering emergency medications. Nursing experience in a Level I or Level II trauma facility is preferred. The average patient ratios are 2:1 in ICU, 5:1 in PCU, and 6-7:1 in MS. This role also requires call-off policies that allow for one shift cancellation every two weeks. Compliance documentation must be provided as per facility requirements. Expectation for completing modules and training within specific guidelines is also required.
