About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Must be comfortable working in all ICU, PCU, and MS units. Description: Position available for a Registered Nurse in a floating role. Traveler will be required to work in Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units. Candidates must have experience with patient ratios of at least 1:5. Charting will be done using an electronic health record system. Staffing needs are evaluated every four hours, and the traveler may float 2-3 times per shift based on these needs. Candidate must be available to work weekends, including every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block. One holiday must be worked during the 13-week contract. All requests for time off must be included during the application process. Facility is permitted to call off one shift every two weeks. Candidates should have experience managing central lines, tracheostomy patients, and non-invasive airway support. Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency medications, sedation, and titrating drips is necessary. Preferred experience includes charge nursing, hospital experience, and trauma experience. Candidates should have knowledge of patient care teams supporting various services. Must be skilled in effective patient management practices to support optimal patient care and outcomes.
