Project Accountant Overland Park, KS | Fully Onsite Full-Time | Direct Hire| up to $65K

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing construction-focused organization to identify a detail-oriented Project Accountant. This role will support financial operations across multiple projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, billing, and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage financial aspects of assigned construction projects from start to close
• Track project costs, budgets, and job profitability
• Process and review AP invoices related to job costs, including coding and approvals Prepare and submit progress billings (AIA billing) and monitor receivables
• Reconcile project costs, including subcontractor and vendor expenses
• Assist with job cost reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting
• Support month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting
• Maintain organized documentation for audits and compliance

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of accounting experience within construction or project-based environments
• Strong understanding of job costing and project accounting principles
• Experience with AIA billing, subcontractor pay applications, or WIP reporting preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs strongly preferred)
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, etc.) a plus
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
