Taylor Sudden Service is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial and industrial generator systems at customer locations throughout the assigned territory.

If you have experience with diesel and gas engines, electrical troubleshooting, and power generation equipment, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair generator systems and related equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on generator sets
• Change engine fluids and filters
• Inspect and service AC and DC electrical systems
• Inspect belts, hoses, exhaust systems, cooling systems, and related components
• Perform load bank testing and automatic transfer switch (ATS) testing
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Complete service reports, inspections, work orders, JSA documentation, and related paperwork accurately and on time
• Communicate with customers regarding service needs and repair recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service vehicle
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced technicians when appropriate
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience servicing and repairing diesel and/or gas engines
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Electrical experience with AC and DC systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
• Experience using a multimeter
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Ability to obtain a Class D Driver's License
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties including bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting
• Must provide own technician tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Generator technician experience
• Power generation experience
• Field service experience
• Experience with commercial or industrial generators
• ATS and load bank testing experience
• Manufacturer training or certifications from Cummins, Generac, Kohler, CAT, or similar equipment manufacturers
