AI Software Developer — Agentic Systems & AutomationPosition Summary

Clive Collective is looking for a hands-on software developer who is already building with modern AI systems—not someone whose experience stops at using ChatGPT.

This role will design, build, test, deploy, and improve software that solves real operating problems across our restaurant and hospitality businesses.

Initial projects will include:

• Large-party and private-dining sales systems
• Lead qualification, routing, and follow-up
• CRM development
• Integrations among reservation, event, communication, and restaurant-management platforms
• Internal applications that reduce repetitive work and improve operating decisions

You will work directly with the people using what you build. You will be expected to understand the operational problem, turn it into a dependable technical solution, deploy it responsibly, and measure whether it produces a real result.

What You Will Do

• Build production-ready applications, automations, integrations, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Develop systems for private-dining and large-party lead capture, qualification, routing, follow-up, and CRM management.
• Connect third-party platforms using APIs, webhooks, authentication, databases, and event-driven workflows.
• Configure and extend coding agents and agent platforms, including tools, memory, permissions, orchestration, and human approval steps.
• Write and maintain Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript applications.
• Review, debug, test, and improve AI-generated code rather than treating generated output as production-ready.
• Design for reliability through logging, monitoring, evaluations, retries, idempotency, duplicate prevention, and clear failure handling.
• Protect company, employee, and guest information through appropriate permissions and data-handling practices.
• Work directly with restaurant operators and company leadership to identify high-value problems and translate them into practical software.
• Document systems so they can be operated, supported, and improved over time.

What We Are Looking For

• Demonstrable experience building and shipping working software.
• Deep, hands-on experience with coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex and agent platforms such as Hermes, OpenClaw, or comparable systems.
• Strong working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, authentication, databases, tool calling, MCP, agent orchestration, and human-in-the-loop approvals.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or both.
• Ability to inspect unfamiliar code, diagnose failures, test assumptions, and solve problems independently.
• Understanding of the difference between a successful demonstration and a dependable production system.
• Good judgment concerning permissions, sensitive information, external actions, and operational risk.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical teammates.
• An ownership-oriented mindset—you care whether the software is adopted and produces measurable results.

Especially Valuable Experience

• Building CRM, lead-management, sales-automation, or workflow-automation systems.
• Integrating restaurant, hospitality, reservation, event, messaging, email, or payment platforms.
• Cloud deployment, relational databases, queues, observability, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Evaluating AI systems for accuracy, reliability, cost, privacy, and business impact.
• Building a substantial personal project, open-source contribution, or independent software product.

A traditional computer-science background is welcome but not required. Your current job title matters less than what you can build, how you think, and whether you can make a system work reliably in the real world.

Compensation

• Base salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year, based on demonstrated experience and technical capability.
• Potential product ownership: The right candidate may have an opportunity to participate in ownership of software products developed in this role. Any ownership arrangement would depend on contribution and performance and would be established separately in a written agreement. It is not guaranteed as part of base compensation.
