POSITION SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing Manager leads digital marketing strategy and execution for Steamboat Resort, with responsibility for paid media, digital channels, and Go-To-Market orchestration. They bring experience in digital marketing, paid media, CRM, website and app strategy, guest segmentation, business strategy, and team leadership, with a strong understanding applying the Steamboat brand across digital channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop the digital marketing team – establish clear priorities, goals, and accountability; coach direct reports; and build a high-performing, increasingly self-sufficient team of digital channel leaders.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership across digital channels – translate business and product priorities into digital action, guide channel strategy and execution, and develop specialists’ abilities to make independent strategic decisions.
• Partner across Marketing – collaborate with peer Marketing Managers and the Director of Marketing to align priorities, identify opportunities and risks, incorporate digital considerations into broader marketing decisions.

Digital Strategy & Channel Leadership

• Guide Digital Strategy & Channel Performance – Lead CRM, email, web, & app strategy; ensure specialists understand business needs, digital trends, guest behavior, and channel opportunities; and guide priorities and optimization to improve performance.
• Translate Insights into Action – Use marketing analytics, channel and partner insights to identify opportunities, make decisions, and optimize digital activity toward business results.
• Stakeholder Alignment – Collaborate with Steamboat and Alterra Mountain Co. partners to guide digital platform decisions, communicate implications, and support implementation while protecting the guest/user experience.

Media Management

• Own Paid Media Strategy & Performance – Lead the strategic direction, briefing, execution, optimization, and measurement of $1.0 - $2.5M in paid media campaigns each fiscal year, using contracted media buying and creative resources as executional extensions of the Steamboat Marketing team.
• Use Performance Insights – Partner with the Marketing Analytics team and external media partners to understand media effectiveness, guest trends, and business performance insights; translate findings into strategic decisions, channel optimization, and improved business results.

Brand Fluency & Collaboration

• Apply Brand Strategy Across Digital Channels – Demonstrate an intimate understanding of the Steamboat brand and translate brand strategy into effective digital experiences, campaigns, and channel execution in close collaboration with the Content/Brand Marketing Manager and creative partners.
• Contribute to Campaign Strategy & Activation – Bring digital, audience, and performance expertise to campaign development and ensure campaigns are effectively translated into digital channel plans and execution.

Marketing Operations

• Go-To-Market Orchestration – Coordinate GTM timing, sequencing, scheduling, dependencies, and strategic alignment across Marketing Managers and channels, ensuring digital and paid media activation is aligned to broader business and marketing priorities.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 5-8 years of experience in marketing—preferably in the resort, hospitality, travel, or outdoor recreation industries.
• 2-5 years of experience leading a team – with a proven track record of high levels of retention and engagement
• Demonstrated ability to apply brand strategy across digital channels.
• Experience managing digital channels – paid media, website, email, & app.
• Experience in audience segmentation, and customer journey strategy.
• Highly organized with strong relational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Sitecore, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, ClickUp, Adobe Analytics, and Microsoft Suite.
• Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

The base salary pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Springs area base salary pay range: $74,000 - $82,000

• This is a salaried exempt position and is not subject to overtime pay
• Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Lift and carry up to 30lbs. Including backpacks with computer equipment and tools
• Intermediate skiing or riding ability required; advanced preferred.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Operate computer for long periods of time
