Cash Operations Specialist I/II (1st shift)

Company Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta About the Role As an employee of the Atlanta Fed, you will support our mission of promoting the stability and efficiency of the U.S. economy and financial system. Work Location Onsite work is an essential function of this position and you are required to be onsite according to the schedule set by your management. Key Responsibilities Receive, process, payout, destroy and validate currency in a highly controlled, regulated and secure environment. Strictly adhere to Treasury Currency Operations Manual, Custody Control Principles and Standards, and district cash procedures. Operate high‑speed currency equipment and pay/receive currency and coin to depository institutions while meeting production targets and controlling for stringent procedures. Balance deposits, process accounting entries, and manage inventory tracking in accounting systems. Ensure accurate automated accounting and transfer records and comply with documentation requirements. Undertake counterfeit certification and physical counterfeits detection; maintain certification through semi‑annual testing. Transfer, store, and account for large amounts of currency and coin using appropriate material‑handling equipment and OSHA‑approved processes. Work effectively in a team environment and achieve high results. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Less than two years of experience (or 2–3 years for Cash II position). Strong knowledge of math, cash balancing, accounting, and Microsoft Office. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
