Your specific responsibilities include supervising employees, performing field inspections, ensuring work is performed in compliance with Standard Indexes and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) policies and procedures, coordinating with the Maintenance Management System's (MMS) Manager, performing minor operational maintenance, and ensuring that equipment is kept in good working condition.

The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities: knowledge of department regulations, policies and procedures relating to highway maintenance operations, Maintenance Management System (MMS) guidelines and production standards, determining maintenance work priorities and organizing resources to meet deadlines, interpreting roadway design standards, maintenance rating standards, specifications, and plans, inspecting completed maintenance projects to ensure quality products, supervising others in the completion of routine maintenance activities, and communicating both verbally and in writing.

Other job-related requirements include a valid Class "B" CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with air brakes, on-call responsibility for returning to work to handle emergency situations, working with or around Department of corrections inmates, obtaining certification in Maintenance of Traffic — Advanced Level within one year, and maintaining a valid Class B driver license with an acceptable driving record.
