Job Title: CT Tech Profession: CT Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days (4x10) Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 1+ years License: Radiologic Technology Certification preferred Certifications: CT registry preferred Must-Have Skills/Experience: Seimans 128 slice scanner Description: Performs imaging procedures. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, acting as a patient advocate. Applies principles of radiation protection when appropriate. Evaluates exams and procedures for technical quality. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Provides excellence in hospitality, courtesy, and compassion. Performs imaging exams and procedures. Operates imaging and imaging-related equipment. Positions and immobilizes patients as necessary. Obtains clinical data and patient history for correlation with the exam. Practices radiation protection for both the patient and self. Applies ALARA and Image Gently principles when applicable. Selects technical factors and imaging mode. Evaluates images for quality. Performs post-processing of images. Assumes care for the physical and psychological needs of patients during treatments and examinations. Practices aseptic technique as necessary. Maintains IV skills. Assists physicians and nursing units in ordering exams and procedures appropriate to the needs and age of the patient. This includes considering recent radiation exposure.
