Our organization is currently seeking dedicated Primary Care Physicians to provide exceptional care for our Veterans, America's Heroes . This rewarding position encompasses a range of services, including preventive medicine, neurology, infectious disease, laboratory, and audiology. As one of nine VA clinics, we serve over 80,000 Veterans in the Inland Empire region. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Providing clinical supervision and guidance to mid-level practitioners, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

• Actively engaging in various committees and teams within the Medical Center.

• Contributing to facility programs aimed at enhancing patient care services, including participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.

• Identifying personal professional development needs and engaging in formal education, workshops, seminars, and self-directed learning activities, while completing mandatory annual training.

• Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to adult outpatients, particularly those aged 65 and older.

• Staying updated on advancements in disease management and treatment through ongoing medical education, both formal and informal.

• Effectively coordinating patient care activities within Primary Care Services and collaborating with other programs, such as Social Work, Prosthetics, Home Based Health Care (HBHC), and private nursing facilities.

• Exhibiting proficiency in diagnosing and treating patients with complex, multi-symptomatic conditions.

• Ensuring timely completion of all medical record documentation in the CPRS system.

• Involving patients, families, and healthcare providers in setting realistic, measurable health education and treatment goals, while assisting staff in mutual goal-setting processes.

• Planning, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to the specific needs of each patient.

• Assessing Veterans using advanced clinical judgment and physical examination skills.

• Identifying acute, non-acute, and chronic health issues.

• Participating in evaluation sessions for medical students and Graduate Medical Education (GME) trainees assigned to their services.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

• Completion of a residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine is required.

• Preferred Experience: Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice is preferred, along with at least five years of relevant experience.

• Annual Leave (Paid Time Off): Receive 208 hours (approximately 26 days) of annual leave, along with unlimited paid sick leave and 11 paid federal holidays from the start.
• Continuing Education: Opportunity to earn CME credits at no cost, with potential funding of $1,000 or more annually and five or more days of paid leave for CME courses (conditions apply).
• Credit for Military Service: Service credits from military time can be transferred to your federal employment for retirement purposes.
