The Opportunity As our HR Business Partner , you’ll be more than an HR advisor—you’ll be a trusted partner to managers and frontline employees, helping them thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. From employee relations and full-cycle recruitment to workforce planning and continuous improvement, this is a chance to shape people strategies that directly support our life‑saving operations. What You’ll Do Support People & Leaders: Provide day‑to‑day HR advisory support, coaching managers on policies, practices, and people challenges. Collaborates with the HR team to ensure alignment and consistency of service delivery across the department. Updates various documents and creates new content and documentation to present and rollout to your stakeholders as needed. Employee Relations: Lead investigations, mediate disputes, and help leaders navigate performance management with fairness and care. Maintains compliance with all audit and risk management requirements. Supports and assists in the implementation of organizational change. Recruitment & Onboarding: Own full‑cycle recruitment for your region, ensuring we hire and onboard the best talent to support our firefighting mission. Build Relationships: Develop strong connections with leaders and employees to understand their needs and bring HR solutions that work. Drive Improvements: Spot opportunities to streamline processes, enhance technology use, and make HR more accessible and impactful. HR Projects: Partner on organizational initiatives and HR projects that support growth and transformation. This position will be on site in Thermal, CA. This is not a remote opportunity. What You Bring 5+ years in progressive HR roles in a dynamic, diverse environment. 4+ years in compensation, benefits, and employee relations (including investigations). Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws; international or Australian labor law experience a plus. Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred). Skilled in conflict resolution, employee relations, and relationship building. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
