Senior Accountant

Client: Well-known Manufacturing/Distribution Organization
Role: Senior Accountant
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 Benefits


Location: Great Neck, NY (*4 days a week onsite*)


Responsibilities:
-Prepare daily general ledger activities to ensure the expediency and accuracy of financial reporting.
-Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
-Month-end close support including preparation of monthly journal entries, expense accruals, account analysis, and account reconciliations.
-Reconcile and analyze multiple general ledger accounts while providing appropriate supporting data and documentation.
-Manage indirect tax compliance for US, Canada, and several European jurisdictions including analysis, preparation, and filing of returns.
-Perform general cost accounting and compare budgets with actual expenses. Forecast, analyze and reconcile costs of processes, labor, and inventory.
-Suggest cost-reduction and/or profit improvement solutions.
-Ensure that the organization is compliant with financial regulations and cost efficient.


Key Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; CPA preferred.
7 years of related work experience required; 3 years in manufacturing/distribution business
Auditing practices and public accounting experience a plus.
Demonstrated problem solving skills, industrious mindset, with ability to drive results, collaborate, manage complexity, and possess effective interpersonal skills.
Oracle or other Enterprise systems experience required.
