Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour day shifts with weekend requirements of 4 shifts per month or every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients in labor and delivery, demonstrating proficiency in managing high-risk situations and supporting families through the birthing process.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to laboring women, including assessment and monitoring of fetal heart rates.
• Administer medications and IV fluids, including titration of Oxytocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin drips as necessary.
• Assist with C-sections and recover patients in the postpartum unit.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and pediatric staff to ensure best patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about the labor and delivery process as well as postpartum care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required.
• EFM certification preferred (through NCC or Advanced Fetal Monitoring).
• Active RN license required.
