Customer Service Representative

Job Requirements:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in customer service within a hospital or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and internal teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple accounts simultaneously.
Attention to detail when processing refunds, transfers requests, and account reconciliations.
Proficiency in documenting account activities and maintaining clear records of all actions taken.
Time management skills to meet productivity standards and manage work queues efficiently.
High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive patient data.
Position Overview:
The Collections Representative, also referred to as Customer Service Representative (CSR), is responsible for all aspects of patient account related activities such as addressing and resolving patients concerns and patient collections. The CSR must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a positive demeanor, good verbal and written communication skills and be professional in both appearance and approach. The CSR will handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a Call Center environment. Must be able to clearly document the patient account with detail notes of the call either be resolution or needs escalation to next level. CSR must have general knowledge of patient financial responsibilities, able to identify patient overpayments based on explanation of benefits and process refunds accordingly. The CSR must be able to perform all needed duties in the Call Center System and Pat Accounting System, Epic, such as appropriate codes are being used to identify types of patient concerns, appropriate work queues for follow-ups, ensuring patient satisfaction.
