Registered Nurse - General Med/Surg

Role: The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, education, and care transitions. The RN supports professional practice across various settings, ensuring comprehensive care aligned with the Mayo Clinic Nursing Practice Model and ANA standards. The RN provides leadership through mentoring, precepting, and quality improvement initiatives, delegates tasks based on skill, experience, and patient acuity, and communicates effectively. Some roles may require driving a personal vehicle. Qualifications: Must have a nursing program graduate certificate and valid RN license. Entry-level RNs must provide proof of baccalaureate degree within five years if starting after April 1, 2020; those hired before must demonstrate degree completion per previous requirements. One year of RN or LPN experience preferred. Candidates need excellent communication, teamwork, computer skills, and adaptability. Additional licensing or certifications may be required based on the work area. Skills & Abilities: Leadership, critical thinking, mentoring, effective communication, and proficiency with electronic medical records.
