Job Description
TITLE
Registered Nurse - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

SCHEDULE
Shift: 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36

REQUIREMENTS
- Current RN license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department
- One year of PACU or critical care experience

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides nursing care to surgical patients in the immediate preoperative and postoperative period.
- Monitors and manages airway, vital signs, and pain control for post-anesthesia patients.
- Responds to emergency situations and implements appropriate nursing interventions.
- Conducts physical assessments and recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress.
- Administers medications and performs intravenous therapy including blood products.
- Ensures proper positioning and stabilization of patients during recovery.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Must have PALS, BLS, ACLS certifications; trauma certification preferred.
- Call on a rotational basis may be required.
