Store Manager - Kay Jewelers - Woodbridge Center

Store Manager Reports to: District Manager. Reports to this position: Assistant Store Manager, Jewelry Consultant, Sales Support and Inventory Control. Position Summary Lead the day‑to‑day operations of a single Kay store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development, maximizing store results. Core Responsibilities Use personal selling, leadership and coaching to promote a People First store environment that values diversity and inclusion, builds long‑term customer relationships, and delivers a best‑in‑class customer experience. Communicate performance expectations, coaching staff on brand image, store visuals, and marketing execution to ensure consistent brand representation. Support and communicate strategic corporate initiatives, translate plans into desired results, and ensure staff understand how goals will be achieved. Drive exceptional customer service through training, outreach, and timely issue resolution; follow up on customer requests. Assume sales projections and quotas, develop sales strategies, observe operations, identify opportunities, review reports, and create plans to address issues. Keep management informed on marketing, merchandising, payment programs, and competitor activities; advise on new or changing merchandise and services. Implement initiatives that change behaviors to produce results, collaborate with neighboring SMs to foster communication, efficiency, and shared objectives. Motivate, persuade, and influence others; manage employee experience by selecting and developing talent, providing onboarding, coaching, and development in operations, sales techniques, customer service, product knowledge, inventory control, and visual merchandising. Maintain compliance with company policies, keep store neat and clean, manage discounts, expenses, payroll, and repair departments to increase profit margins. Schedule work to balance opening/closing shifts, customer traffic, and coaching/ training time; work a five‑day schedule during non‑peak periods and shift hours during peak selling periods. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned and maintain regular attendance. Qualifications Education: Minimum of 2 years of college (preferred). Experience: At least 3 years of retail sales experience, or 2 years retail sales plus at least 1 year of retail management experience; preference to those with specialty retail or jewelry experience. DCA certification is preferred. Technical & Other Skills Advanced communication skillset (written and verbal). Proficient with computers, advanced proficiency in MS Office, and related business technology. Strong interpersonal, presentation, problem‑solving, and conflict‑management skills. Professional appearance and communication across email, social media, video conference, phone, and text. Planning, organizing, prioritizing, delegating, and meeting deadlines. Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Demands Must stand, reach, move between display cases, and perform repetitive motions. Can sit, stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch as needed. Can lift up to 10 pounds. Requires visual acuity to discern gemstone quality. Standard workweek includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel including air travel and overnight may be required. Compensation Base salary $50,000 – $84,700 plus commission on sales. Final pay rate determined by experience and qualifications.
