QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL Lubbock, Texas | 1099 Independent Contractor At McHur Care, community-based mental health care is purpose-driven work. We help children, adolescents, and families build stability through practical support delivered where life happens: at home, at school, and in the community. We are seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional to provide Medicaid-aligned behavioral health services throughout the Lubbock area. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employment position. About The Role As a QMHP contractor, you will provide authorized behavioral health services in homes, schools, and approved community settings. This role requires the ability to work independently in the field while meeting service, documentation, payer, and compliance requirements. Responsibilities Provide authorized skills training and development, targeted case management, crisis intervention, and medication training and support. Develop and update crisis and safety plans when appropriate, and coordinate with caregivers, treatment team members, schools, and community partners. Deliver face-to-face services in approved community settings and complete accurate progress notes, service records, and supporting documentation within required timelines. Follow applicable Medicaid, payer, and organizational service-delivery requirements. Qualifications Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major, or coursework equivalent to a major, in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant studies, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention. Registered Nurses and Licensed Practitioners of the Healing Arts may also meet the credentialing requirements for designation as a QMHP-CS. Applicants must be eligible for designation as a QMHP-CS. Educational eligibility will be verified through degree and transcript review. Experience supporting children, adolescents, and families is preferred. Spanish-speaking or bilingual English and Spanish candidates are strongly preferred based on the communication needs of the individuals and families we serve. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in a community-based service model and demonstrate strong written documentation, organization, time management, and professional communication skills. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the assigned service area are required. Compensation Compensation is governed by the applicable Contractor Agreement and Compensation Plan. Base Service Fee: $25 to $28 per approved billable hour. Services must be properly documented, coded, and eligible for submission and approval. Monthly Accelerator: An additional $4 to $9 per billable hour may be earned based on total monthly billable hours under the tiered accelerator model. Mileage Support: If offered, flat monthly support ranging from $100 to $800 may be available based on verified eligible business mileage. Normal commuting is excluded. Ramp-Up Support: Up to 45 days of time-limited minimum-pay support may be available when eligibility requirements are met. Additional Incentives: A $50 new-client referral incentive may be available when applicable requirements are satisfied. PAY SCHEDULE Services performed from the 1st through the 15th are paid on the 22nd. Services performed from the 16th through the final day of the month are paid on the 7th. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR INFORMATION This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement. Employee benefits are not provided. Non-billable administrative time, travel time, and meetings are not separately compensated unless expressly included in the Compensation Plan or a signed written statement of work. Trainings and meetings may be offered. Participation is generally voluntary unless otherwise stated. SERVICE AREA AND PRACTICAL EXPECTATIONS Primary coverage includes Lubbock, Texas, and surrounding communities. Field travel between approved service locations is expected. Contractors are responsible for managing their schedules, maintaining appropriate communication with team members, and completing all required documentation within established timelines.
