Human Resources Generalist II

HR Generalist II, Payroll & BenefitsThe HR Generalist II, Payroll & Benefits is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, administration of employee benefit programs, and support of broader Human Resources initiatives. The position maintains payroll and benefit records, ensures accurate deductions and reporting, assists team members with benefit and payroll matters, and supports employee relations, engagement, compliance, training, and related HR activities. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, customer service, and analytical skill.Essential FunctionsProcess and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of FPI bi-weekly payroll and monthly payroll, and provide the Accounting Department with required reports.Administer all company benefit and insurance programs, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, supplemental insurance, and other benefits offered to FPI team members.Manage Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and supplemental insurance open enrollment activities.Administer and assist team members with insurance claims, including supplemental coverage and COBRA.Manage FMLA with the assistance of a third-party administrator.Manage Short-Term Disability and leave-of-absence payments.Administer the Health Savings Account (HSA) associated with medical insurance.Complete and reconcile monthly insurance billing for all insurance programs.Report monthly payroll and/or benefits activity to the parent company, as required.Process garnishments and child support orders in the HRIS.Prepare and maintain absenteeism reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.Communicate all payroll and benefits notices to FPI team members in a timely manner.Ensure local and state compliance of payroll and benefit practices in coordination with HR leadership.Conduct training related to payroll, benefits, and other assigned HR areas.Support employee relations activities, communications, and investigations related to payroll and other assigned HR matters.Track and maintain the Service Award Program and Perfect Attendance bonuses.Participate in and support employee engagement initiatives and invitations.Respond to unemployment insurance claims.Maintain accurate, confidential payroll, benefits, and employee records and respond to employee questions in a professional and timely manner.Job Dimensions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, including VLOOKUP, macros, PivotTables, and related functions.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Lotus Notes or other applicable systems.Math skills necessary for payroll calculations, invoice consolidation, reconciliations, and premium-payment adjustments.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Problem analysis, problem resolution, and sound judgment.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive payroll, benefits, medical, and employee information.Expected to attend relevant training to continuously improve job-related knowledge and skills.Minimum QualificationsEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in Human Resources or related fields required.Work Experience Requirements1-2 years of payroll and benefits experience required.2+ years of experience in progressive Generalist role preferredAutomotive Manufacturing experience preferred.
