The AI-driven Commercial and Operations transformations team is a rapidly growing practice serving private equity firms and large corporates on commercial excellence, pricing strategy, and AI-enabled transformation of commercial operations. Our teams partner with clients to unlock commercial value by driving revenue and margin improvements through advancing pricing strategy, custom AI & ML pricing engines, optimize sales operations using custom AI agents and AI-augmented decision-making, enhance sales effectiveness and enablement using ML & AI solutions and optimize commercial org for the future. How You Will Contribute Advise companies in the areas of Revenue & Margin Improvement through Price optimization, sales effectiveness, margin transparency, product portfolio optimization and SKU rationalization, sales operations efficiency, customer churn and retention and margin recovery, leveraging ML & AI tools and models. Our team focuses on driving performance improvements in top-line revenue, margin improvement and marketing mix optimization. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing teams of Alvarez & Marsal professionals to address complex business challenges within Commercial Excellence. The right person will be highly skilled at communicating with C-level management, conceiving, and structuring analytical plans to uncover drivers of performance, designing actionable solutions to drive Revenue & Margin improvements, and developing implementation plans.

The Pricing Director must have a proven track record leading or co‑leading major pricing and commercial excellence consulting engagements at a top‑tier consulting firm, with demonstrated ability to shape client strategy and execution, or, held leadership roles (Director/VP level) in a corporate commercial, pricing, or revenue function, responsible for pricing strategy, pricing governance, or commercial excellence initiatives.

Additionally, The Ideal Candidate Must Show

Demonstrated success building and delivering AI tools, machine learning models, or agentic solutions that have materially impacted pricing, revenue, and margins commercial execution, or customer value creation

Ability to translate client pricing and margin challenges into AI-enabled opportunities and lead delivery from concept through implementation of pricing engines, tools, discount management and governance process, and org changes

Track record of attracting and developing high‑performing teams on complex, multi‑faceted engagements in the B2B or B2C space

Professional Skills Project Management:

Own and manage the high‑quality execution of individual projects. End-to-end project management will include roadmap design, management of the project team and plan, and development and presentation of final deliverables.

Project Fulfillment:

Contribute to project work by combining creative problem solving with analytical rigor to drive actionable insights. Representative project work includes developing margin transparency, pricing analysis, reporting frameworks and dashboards, performing B2B/B2C customer segmentation and statistical modeling.

Data Manipulation & Analysis:

Work with project team to understand, manipulate and analyze client and market data using various tools, which may include: MS Excel, SQL Server, Alteryx or Tableau, Python, and LLMs

ML & AI:

Leverage prior knowledge and experience in using ML and AI tools to drive pricing and margin improvements and guide junior staff in developing custom pricing tools and engines.

People & Team Leadership:

Motivate, develop, and challenge all members of project teams to exceed client expectations. Provide value‑added thinking and mentorship to ensure junior team members develop over time and are satisfied.

Client Relations:

Manage client relationships on a day‑to‑day basis while collaborating with internal client team members. Partner with client teams to define project requirements, develop hypotheses, gather data, brainstorm alternatives, and generate recommendations.

Qualifications

Industry Experience, B2B, B2C, B2B2R and Business Services; experience working with PE and/ or PE relationships is a plus.

10+ years’ experience leading client engagements across pricing strategy, commercial operations optimization, and AI‑enabled commercial transformation

Experience in partnering with commercial technology and AI teams to design and implement cutting‑edge solutions (dynamic pricing engines, demand sensing, AI‑driven commercial operations, etc.)

Strong expertise and knowledge of ML and (preferably AI) to analyze and develop custom pricing engines and solutions

Strong quantitative mindset combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment, think on your feet, and respond with confidence and creativity

Experience in building teams and thought leadership in AI‑driven commercial excellence

Consulting experience preferred (not required)

MBA from a top‑tier university preferred (not required)

The base salary range is $175,000--$225,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.

Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions Over 30 hours

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal.

Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy‑two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.

The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type.

Part-time Positions Under 30 hours Regular employees working less than 30 hours per week are entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal.
