Senior Project Manager - SAP

Role : Senior Project Manager

Location : Remote (Requires 2-3 weeks of onsite travel to Japan per quarter)

Contract : Long-term

Required Qualifications

• Experience & SAP Background:
  • 12+ years of IT program and project management experience.
  • 5+ full-lifecycle SAP implementations as Project Manager or Delivery Lead, including at least 2 implementations on SAP S/4HANA .
  • Proven ownership of multi-functional, multi-plant manufacturing or supply chain programs (no single-site or single-module).
• Governance & Program Mechanics:
  • Proven scope-governance record: running formal stage-gating processes and holding a "standard-first" line against business pressure.
  • Strong command of integrated planning, critical path/dependency management, resource and budget control, RAID discipline, and steering committee reporting.
• Delivery & Change Leadership:
  • Experience leading distributed, multi-party teams (Client Business, Client IT, Corporate IT, and System Integrator) across time zones.
  • Experience managing cutover and multi-shift hypercare for live operations.
  • Proven organizational change management (OCM) skills, guiding workforces from paper/spreadsheets to system-driven processes.
• Certifications & Communication:
  • Executive-level written and spoken English.
  • Formal project management credential ( PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent ).
  • Working fluency with SAP Activate .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Domain & Technical Expertise:
  • Discrete manufacturing background (electronics, automotive, or precision components) with exposure to traceability-driven quality environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP Digital Manufacturing , SAP BTP clean-core governance , and SAP Analytics Cloud to credibly challenge architecture/scope.
  • Experience rolling a global SAP template into country operations while balancing global standards with local requirements.
• Japanese Market & Certifications:
  • Prior program delivery in Japan or with Japanese manufacturing clients (familiarity with Japanese consensus-building processes).
  • Certifications: PMI-ACP, SAFe, or SAP Activate certification .
