Pediatric Hospitalist - Thomas Campus & East Valley

Our organization is expanding its Division of Hospital Medicine and is looking for pediatric hospitalists to join our vibrant team. We invite physicians who are interested in pursuing careers in either academic or community hospital medicine, or those who wish to blend both paths.

Our Division comprises over 80 faculty members across four locations, each with unique focuses in areas such as clinical care, patient safety, medical education, quality enhancement, research, and leadership. We are currently on the lookout for hospitalists for both the Thomas Campus and East Valley locations, offering hybrid roles that encompass both day and night shifts, as well as dedicated nocturnist positions.

Attractive Night-Shift Compensation

All physicians working night shifts will receive a substantial additional stipend. Whether these night shifts are part of a hybrid schedule or a dedicated nocturnist role, physicians will earn extra compensation for each night worked. Those in the nocturnist position will also benefit from a competitive hourly differential.

Thomas Campus Overview

The Thomas Campus is a standalone children's hospital featuring a Level I Trauma Center and a wide array of pediatric subspecialty services. Hospitalists here have ample opportunities to engage in patient safety initiatives, research, quality improvement projects, medical education, and program development.

Our academic setting includes a well-established ACGME-accredited two-year Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship, which currently hosts six fellows, and plays a significant role in educating a large pediatric residency program. Faculty members hold academic positions at the University of Arizona, Creighton University, and the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.

East Valley Overview

The East Valley location is a new, standalone Women & Children's center in Gilbert, set to open in early 2027. This facility will feature a 24-bed pediatric unit, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Pediatric Emergency Department, comprehensive subspecialty support, and 24/7 in-house coverage by hospitalists and intensive care providers. Physicians will have the option to work solely in the pediatric unit or focus exclusively on the newborn service, if preferred.

Newborn care will be provided in collaboration with Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, with no requirements for delivery attendance or NICU coverage. The East Valley site will also present teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows, making it an appealing option for those interested in a community-based practice with strong academic ties.
