About the Position

CVICU RN Registered Nurse Cardiac ICU/CVICU Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Rotating Nights/Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years in CVICU License: Active RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS preferred, CCRN preferred Must-Have: IABP and Impella experience Description: CICU/CVICU RN position requires rotating day and night shifts. EOW 2 years of experience is required. First-time travelers with strong skills and experience in CVICU will be considered. Patient care will focus on adults and geriatrics with an average daily census of 10. The unit consists of 15 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1. Common diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. Special procedures include bedside line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, and targeted temperature management. Staff will be expected to manage mechanical support devices and maintain a high level of patient monitoring. Floating within the specialty is required as needed. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required as scheduled.
