You’ll oversee the health needs of a caseload including General Education 8th graders as well as all Special Education students, making a meaningful difference in their school experience. As the sole nurse on-site, your expertise and independence will be valued and relied upon.

Key Qualifications:

• Must hold current and valid RN or LVN license in California
• Experience in school nursing or similar pediatric/child health setting strongly preferred
• Ability to confidently work independently, as no training is provided
• Skilled in vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings
• Familiar with general school nurse responsibilities: medication administration, health assessments, record-keeping, parent communication
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Perform state-mandated student health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis) for assigned grade levels

• Address routine health needs/emergencies within school policies

• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with health regulations

• Serve as health resource for school staff and parents regarding health concerns, care plans, or medication management

• Support a safe, welcoming environment for all students
