Job Details Job Details: The Groundskeeper BG-03 position is a career opportunity at Tyson Foods, Incorporated. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment. Pay $18.40 Hourly Work Schedule: Monday – Friday. Hours are typically 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. We will start as early as 6:00 AM during the hot part of the summer. Employee is expected to assist in snow removal, which may include early morning and/or weekend work. This position requires adequate knowledge in multiple skill sets including horticulture, turf care, and lawn and garden tool usage and maintenance. In addition to assisting the grounds team with regular grounds maintenance activities: Employee may assist BG-04 Groundskeepers in more specialized grounds tasks including irrigation work, pest management, and more specialized horticulture work. Equipment you will be expected to operate include mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, drills, and various hand tools. You will also be required to drive vehicles to or at work sites. Employee will help team maintain equipment and must be willing to assist team with special projects related to facilities maintenance and enhancement. Employee will be expected to help with snow removal and other job duties as assigned. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold outside weather conditions, and to noisy equipment. Responsibilities Assist in snow removal, which may include early morning and/or weekend work. Perform regular grounds maintenance activities. Assist BG-04 Groundskeepers in specialized grounds tasks including irrigation work, pest management, and horticulture work. Operate equipment including mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, drills, and various hand tools. Drive vehicles to or at work sites. Help team maintain equipment and assist with special projects related to facilities maintenance and enhancement. Demonstrate quality, safety, and efficiency in all work. Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: 1 year experience in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance, or landscaping field. Small engine repair knowledge is helpful. Computer Skills: Not necessary but helpful. Communication Skills: High level oral communication and problem-solving skills are helpful. Must have the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with other team members, all levels of management, as well as executive leadership. Special Skills Understand troubleshooting and operation of lawn and garden equipment. Understand basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting techniques. Understand basic horticulture and landscaping practices. Must be able to display sound judgment, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
