Position Summary

The Production Manager will oversee the full spectrum of manufacturing and repair activities. This includes shaping shop organization, enforcing safety and environmental compliance, driving Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and ensuring production schedules and quality standards are consistently met. The role requires balancing short-term delivery demands with long-term continuous improvement and equipment reliability.

Production Planning and Control

• Prepare detailed production schedules based on operational priorities, available resources, and customer requirements.
• Monitor the execution of production schedules and address issues that could affect quality or on-time delivery.

Manufacturing and Repair Operations

• Lead manufacturing and repair operations to meet company objectives related to product quality, production costs, customer service, equipment uptime, efficiency, and employee and environmental safety.
• Organize manufacturing and repair shops according to Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Coordinate materials handling to ensure materials and tooling are available when needed to meet production schedules.
• Secure and maintain customer-owned equipment returned for evaluation or repair.
• Build and maintain a quality-focused, safe, and efficient work environment.

Inventory and Budget Support

• Assist with preparing budget items related to production operations.
• Manage and maintain Expedited Shipping Program inventory.
• Oversee the storage and control of products and inventory located within production areas.

Equipment, Tooling, and Facility Maintenance

• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for production equipment.
• Establish equipment-monitoring processes to identify maintenance needs and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Develop and maintain maintenance programs for tooling and fixtures.
• Provide recommendations regarding capital upgrades to equipment and facilities.

MRP/ERP Systems

• Assist with the design and implementation of the companys Enterprise Resource Planning and Materials Requirements Planning systems.
• Use MRP/ERP systems to support production scheduling, inventory management, materials planning, and company objectives.

Team Leadership and Performance

• Coach, train, and develop production employees to strengthen their skills, capabilities, and performance.
• Establish relevant key performance indicators, set performance targets, and monitor results.
• Communicate regularly with employees regarding departmental and company performance.
• Maintain an open, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in business or a related field.
• Minimum of six years of relevant manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
• Previous experience leading production teams, supervisors, and shop-floor employees.
• Experience with production scheduling, workflow coordination, and performance management.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of quality, cost control, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and on-time delivery.
• Experience in precision or industrial manufacturing, aerospace, defense, flow measurement, or a related industry is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• High standards of integrity, accountability, quality, and work ethic.
