Vice President of Finance
Clarity Clinic
Vice President Of Finance
Clarity Clinic is an interdisciplinary group private practice of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Advanced Practice Providers (PAs, NPs), Psychologists, and Therapists. Our mission is to thoughtfully guide the whole person on their journey to find clarity and mental wellness by providing exceptional holistic care across multiple locations and service lines, including outpatient psychiatry and therapy, PHP/IOP, TMS, esketamine, and psychological testing.
Clarity Clinic is seeking a mission-oriented, strategic finance leader to serve as Vice President of Finance in a period of rapid multi-site growth. Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the COO and leadership team, the VP of Finance owns the organization's financial strategy, planning, reporting, and controls. As Clarity scales, the role carries the additional expectation of building and maintaining institutional-grade financial infrastructure that supports future growth, financing, and expansion and withstands external diligence.
The VP of Finance is the senior-most finance seat at Clarity Clinic. The role reports directly to the CEO, maintains a close cross-functional (dotted-line) working relationship with the COO, and directly supervises the Director of Finance and assigned finance and accounting staff. The VP sets financial strategy and standards; the Director of Finance owns day-to-day execution of close, reporting, budgeting, controls, and cash operations under the VP's direction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own the organization's financial strategy, annual budget, and rolling forecast across all entities, sites, and service lines, in partnership with the CEO and COO.
- Produce accurate, timely, institutional-grade financial reporting and analysis for leadership, ownership, and external stakeholders, including monthly reporting packages, board-quality materials, and variance analysis.
- Build and maintain clean, well-documented financial records and reporting, including adjusted EBITDA and normalized earnings (add-back) analysis, that withstand lender, audit, or investor review.
- Model and monitor the financial impact of new clinic openings and expansion, including ramp economics, site-level P&L, capital planning, and return analysis to inform go/no-go and pacing decisions.
- Manage capital structure, banking relationships, and debt, including covenant compliance, reporting, and forecasting; serve as the primary finance contact for lenders and financing partners.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and audit-readiness across the organization; own the integrity of the general ledger and the monthly close.
- Partner with the revenue cycle and billing functions to reconcile financial reporting against Electronic Health Record (EHR) as the system of record, and to improve the accuracy and predictability of net revenue, cash collections, and payor performance.
- Oversee cash flow and treasury, including forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning.
- Oversee risk management and finance-related legal activities, including business insurance, contracts, leases, and agreements; ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, notably Illinois privacy and data security laws.
- Lead, develop, and grow the finance team; set standards, coach staff, and build a function that scales with the organization.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA/MSF) preferred. CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and controls in a high-growth organization.
- Healthcare finance experience required, ideally in a multi-site services setting.
- Demonstrated ability to build and operate institutional-grade financial reporting and controls, including adjusted EBITDA and add-back analysis, covenant management, and audit and diligence readiness, at the standard expected by lenders, auditors, and boards.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with modern reporting and BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and integrating data from clinical/billing systems of record.
- Finance leadership within a high-growth, multi-site healthcare organization operating with external financing preferred.
- Multi-site or multi-entity healthcare finance experience, with site-level P&L ownership and consolidation, preferred.
- M&A and transaction diligence experience (buy-side or sell-side), including quality-of-earnings and add-back analysis, preferred.
- Lender and covenant management experience, including debt reporting and refinancing, preferred.
