You can either be based in Carterville, IL, OR Evansville, IL, OR Nashville, TN.In this role, you'll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning diesel-powered pumps, dewatering systems, and related equipment. You'll work directly with customers both in the shop and in the field, serving as a trusted technical expert while helping keep critical operations running efficiently.If you enjoy solving mechanical and electrical challenges, working independently, and making a direct impact on customer success, we'd love to hear from you.What Your Day Will Look LikePerform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing on rental fleet equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, pumps, electrical systems, and associated equipment.Rebuild diesel engines, pump ends, and related components.Conduct advanced diagnostics utilizing computerized testing equipment.Support customers during equipment setup, startup, and troubleshooting activities.Inspect returned equipment and identify repair requirements.Test repaired equipment to verify performance, safety, and quality standards.Assist with on-site installations and equipment commissioning.Perform maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipment.Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.Participate in an on-call rotation supporting customer needs after hours.Champion a strong safety culture by following all company safety policies and procedures.Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer and community engagement initiatives.What Makes You a Great FitRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.2+ years of electric motors and/or deep-set turbine pumpsValid driver's license with a clean driving record.Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.Ability to obtain customer-required site clearances, including TWIC, DISA, or other customer-specific credentials as needed.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with pumps, generators, dewatering systems, or rental equipment.Knowledge of electric motors and/or deep-set turbine pumpsExperience diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues.Previous field service experience supporting industrial customers.Skills That Will Help You SucceedStrong mechanical aptitude.Troubleshooting and repair.Electrical diagnostics and testing.Customer-focused mindset.Independent problem-solving ability.Excellent communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.Why Join Xylem?At Xylem, your work has purpose.
