Stihl & Outdoor Power Sales Specialist

Position Summary The primary responsibilities of the Stihl & Outdoor Power Sales Specialist position are to provide amazing customer service, generate sales, provide customers help and product knowledge, and support the store management team’s priorities of the day by always being productive during customer down time completing task work. Additionally, the Stihl Sales Specialist will take on skill-based roles identified below based upon experience and qualifications. The Stihl & Outdoor Power Sales Specialist is required to bring multiple years of small engine and Stihl training and certification to the position. We will continue Stihl training as the associate progresses in the Stihl programs. Major Responsibilities The major responsibilities for this position include: Comes to work as a happy, friendly associate ready to help every customer and associate. Greet customers as they enter your area and help direct by asking "What can I help you find today" Ensure customers receive amazing service, follows the W.O.W. process and standards. Help customers locate merchandising in store, show alternatives if we have, provide help on AceHardware.Com, as well as completing special orders within AceNet. Use Radio headset to communicate with other associate’s in working with customers and business needs. Awareness of all promotions and advertisements and communicates to customers as appropriate. Takes ownership for assigned roles and performs to highest standards. To become the “go to” specialist for assigned roles below. Execute the daily operational, day-to-day tasks and priorities assigned by store management including; Stocking / Replenish out of stocks / Process new truck receipts Set planograms, endcaps & displays including signing. Completing price changes which include replacement of bin tags, signing and ticketing as applicable. Sets promotions including signing, completes pricing changes and maintains shelf labels. Assist in the training and development of peers with your specialty skills. Participates in the Store Housekeeping Standards Maintain as We Go which may include: Taking out the trash, dust and mop floors, clean restroom, associate room, and clean stockroom. Recovers and maintains merchandising standards putting away merchandise and facing on shelf / hook. Retrieve carts from the parking areas and pick up trash outside. Clean front patio and Garden Center. Processing new shipments and helps keep the receiving and back stock area clean, organized and safe. Learn and follow established safety rules and safe work practices. Reports accidents immediately to a Manager. Is proactively monitoring customers and if shoplifting is suspected or observed, provides a higher level of service and notifies the MOD via headset radio. Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card, promotes the benefits and future savings potential. Answer customers’ questions, "how to" requests, and provide information on "do it yourself" projects. Will learn POS procedures to backup Customer Service Associates and process high value transactions. Completes at least 20 hours of training per year and earns 2 badges per year. The Stihl Sales Specialist are expected to learn how to assist customers in all areas of the store and also allowed to specialize in areas they have deep knowledge and skills. Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related categories/products with a willingness to learn. Previous experience in a retail environment either in sales and merchandising roles. A happy and friendly person with a commitment to service, excellence and helping others. Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers Knowledge and experience working in retail operational computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus. A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction Team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn. Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task Ability to work PT flexible hours including weekday shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business. Physical Requirements The minimum physical requirements for this position include: Must be able to lift 40 to 80 pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders. Ability to stand for an extended period of time Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, moving and performing all functions as set forth in a retail store.
